February is career month at the University of Minnesota! Open to current students and recent alumni the month is chock-full of job fairs, networking events, webinars, and workshops.

Maroon and Gold Connections

Maroon and Gold Connections is Career Month’s signature networking event for alumni of all colleges, industries, and career levels. Make new and meaningful connections and learn about career motivation from our distinguished speaker, Maggie Tomas. For those outside the Twin Cities, there is the option to view the keynote via live stream.

Environmental Internship & Career Fair

Connect with organizations for full-time opportunities and internships. At the fair, you'll be able to: explore opportunities, engage with employers, and make an impression that can help you to stand out in the job or internship application process. Prepare a resume, have an elevator pitch, and dress in a way that is authentic to you.

Find Your Fit and Love Your Career

Have you ever felt unhappy in a job role?  Do you ever wish there was more to your job? If you answered yes to these questions, you are not alone. According to a recent Gallup poll, job dissatisfaction is at an all-time high with employees experiencing staggering rates of both disengagement and unhappiness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. While there are many factors that can contribute to job dissatisfaction, job fit is one that is within your control and is your responsibility to determine. This webinar will discuss the importance of fit when it comes to your job and overall career. It will provide you with strategies to reflect, discover, and define your fit in order to be successful in finding a career you love.

Portfolio Event

Wednesday, February 15 | 5:30–8:30 PM

Open to all architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design students, attendees will begin making connections with alumni and professionals in the field. Bring your portfolio or work samples, resume, and process iterations (optional) to share with professionals and get feedback.

Product Design Career Fair

Friday, February 17 | 9:00 AM–12:30 PM
Great Hall, Coffman Memorial Union

Companies want interested students and alumni to stop by their table, introduce themselves, and show one to three projects. You can show projects on your laptop or tablet, or as physical models/printed pieces. After showing your work, employers may want your resume, so bring plenty of copies to share.

Explore unique job and internship opportunities in a variety of industries by connecting with 100+ employers. The UMN Job & Internship Fair will be open to all UMN students, and alumni for three years (2019–2022).
