Composed of the dean, two associate deans, two assistant deans, and support staff, the Office of the Dean provides critical focus to the academic, administrative, research, and operational functions of the college. This section of the intranet contains information and documents related to college governance, center and program reviews, committees and assemblies, Rapson and McNeal Hall emergency procedures, and the College of Design's Honors and Awards.

College of Design Assemblies and Committees are defined in the College of Design's Constitution and Bylaws.

College Assemblies

The College of Design hosts staff, faculty, and college-wide assemblies throughout each academic year. 

The College Assembly meets twice a year and welcomes all college staff, faculty, and students to share information and discuss matters concerning the college as a whole. 

The Faculty Assembly is held twice a year and focuses on discussing issues related to programming, promotion and tenure, and changes to college governance. For more information, contact Faculty Assembly Chair Terresa Hardaway

The Staff Assembly is composed of all College of Design CS/LR and P&A staff members, including temp and part-time workers. The assembly typically meets twice a year, in the fall and spring, to welcome new colleagues, discuss staff-related issues, and engage across departments/units.

Faculty Leadership Committee

The Faculty Leadership Committee is a standing committee of the Faculty Assembly and represents the faculty of the college at large. They serve as the faculty consulting body to the dean and as the executive committee of the Faculty Assembly. 

Staff Leadership Committee

The Staff Leadership Committee (SLC) is a standing committee of the Staff Assembly composed of up to six elected staff members, three CS/LR and three of P&A, from various units across the college. Members are elected for either one or two-year terms to stagger turnover. The Chair and Vice-Chair must be one CS/LR member and one P&A member and change each year to alternate between CS/LR and P&A leadership. SLC is in charge of scheduling and presiding over the Staff Assemblies and typically meets monthly to discuss staff issues, plan events, and more.

Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee is a standing committee of the Faculty Assembly in charge of assessing new courses and programs as well as changes to existing courses and programs. Schedules and deadlines for submissions, access meeting agendas and notes, and the submissions form can all be found on the Curriculum Committee page.
