The MDC, led by Senior Research Fellows John Carmody and Bruce Jacobson, along with MDC staff member Joseph Hang, have completed the Towerside Framework for Planning and Implementation that will help guide the Towerside Innovation District going forward in terms of where to focus its energy and how to have the greatest impact.

The report documents how the district helps advance the comprehensive plans for both Minneapolis and St. Paul and recommends some zoning language that will make it easier for the district to function as a mixed-use, residential, commercial, and light-industrial neighborhood that will meet the needs of a diverse community, in a thriving 21st century economy. Previously, the MDC team developed a Vision and Design Guidelines for the Towerside Innovation District.
