Minnesota GreenStep Schools is a free and voluntary statewide program for public and private K-12 schools and districts to advance their building and grounds by reducing environmental impact and costs, improving the health and well-being of students and staff, and providing effective environmental and sustainability education.

MDC's Jonee Brigham leads the design and research for the pilot version funded by MN Pollution Control Agency in collaboration with the U of MN Institute on the Environment and Department of Curriculum and Instruction STEM faculty, with a network of support including the MN Schools Boards Association, MN Association of School Administrators, MN Department of Education, MN Department of Health, MN Department of Commerce, Youth Eco Solutions (YES!) and many more from the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
