The mission of the Goldstein Museum of Design's staff and advisory board is to enhance design education through fundraising, community advocacy, and volunteer support.
Advisory board members each serve a three-year term that may be renewed once with approval of the advisory board. Officers each serve one two-year term. Meetings will be at least bimonthly at an agreed upon time and place. The advisory board receives no compensation other than reimbursement for direct expenses incurred for approved GMD activities.
The GMD Advisory Board does not have a fiduciary responsibility and is not legally liable for improprieties related to GMD’s governance. GMD is part of the College of Design and governed by the UMN Board of Regents. The regents set UMN policies and delegate responsibility to the college to oversee GMD’s operation and responsible management.
We accept applications for open seats on GMD's Advisory Board all year. To inquire about Advisory Board service, please contact Director Aidan O'Connor.
Goldstein Museum of Design Staff
The Goldstein Museum of Design staff takes pride in the museum's mission to introduce students to interdisciplinary ideas through exhibitions and programs, provide opportunities to study evidence of past cultures and design history through collection objects, introduce museum practices as a career opportunity or as a future museum supporter, and serve as a source of design knowledge for the public.
