Salvador Blumenkron

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Architecture

Salvador is a practicing architect, working as a project designer at Collage Architects for the past ten years, and has practiced independently and at firms in Mexico City. He is currently teaching a Bachelor of Design in Architecture Workshop on flexible spaces and anthropometry, he has also taught design methods and research integration. Salvador has taught at the school since 2003.

Salvador graduated with Honor of Merit from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and received his master's degree from the University of Minnesota School of Architecture. He has lectured on architect Luis Barragán and worked with the Casa-Museo Luis Barragán, Mexico City. In this capacity, he has hosted guided tours for architects such as Santiago Calatrava, Peter Zumthor, Joao Filgueiras, Tadao Ando, and Richard Meier.

His experience has ranged from interior architecture to multi-family housing, commercial architecture, urban development and entrepreneurship in single-family housing. His Thesis project at the University of Minnesota entitled URBAN TRANSFORMATIONS | IMMIGRATION looked at the re-opening of Nicollet Avenue & Lake Street to create a community center for Hispanic immigrants in midtown Minneapolis.
