Patrick Lynch

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Architecture

Patrick Lynch's life changed at the age of five when his neighbor's house was tented and fumigated for an insect infestation. He was told to stay away. The air inside was poisonous, and indescribable by meteorological + climactic terms. He was not fully sure the house was still there. The alternating 2-foot wide blue and white stripes masked the domestic characters typically seen throughout his suburban neighborhood. This surface strangeness was a constant distraction for him. Squinting his eyes, he could make out the prefabricated ridgelines holding back gravity against the draped, billowing fabric. Four days later, three laborers unwrapped the house and his neighbors returned. He cannot describe the house in great detail today.

Patrick received his Master of Architecture and MS in Design Research from the University of Michigan. He is a practicing architect in Minneapolis.
