Debra (Deb) Lawton is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic and UX design. Her teaching centers on developing designers who are visually sharp, able to tell the story behind their work, and ready for what the industry looks like today.
In her classes, students tackle experimental and real-world projects, developing a personal design voice while building a strong foundation in design principles, visual systems, and user-centered problem solving. Projects range from design exercises that sharpen the eye and explore emerging tools, to collaborations with local businesses and campus departments, to real-world scenarios that reflect what designers face on the job.
