Leftovers: BioDesign Challenge Summit 2023

Team: Sydney Ring, Irene Zeng, Neha Shyam, Nati Yeshiwas, Manasvi Kallepalli

Program: UX Design

At the BioDesign Challenge Summit 2023, our dynamic, multidisciplinary team, co-led by Michael Winikoff and myself, spearheaded the introduction of “Leftovers”: an innovative, sustainable, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional cling wrap.

Collaborating seamlessly, our team, comprised of students from diverse disciplines, brought a spectrum of perspectives to the project. This initiative not only aligned with our commitment to sustainability but also showcased the power of interdisciplinary cooperation in driving impactful change.

Notably, our project is an integral part of the 3131 UX in Design course during the Spring of 2023, adding an educational dimension to our pursuit of a greener and more sustainable future. The intersection of coursework and real-world application enriched our understanding and propelled the project towards success. This dual integration, within both a major summit and an academic course, underscores the practical application and educational value of our efforts in developing environmentally conscious solutions.

Our collaborative endeavor brought together students from various disciplines, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and skills. The culmination of our commitment to sustainability and creative problem-solving resulted in the development of Leftovers, addressing a pressing need in environmentally conscious packaging.
