ABOUT THE PROJECT
Today, people are slowly waking up to the possibility of more sustainable and less disaffecting thanatology, reclaiming non-Western practices and developing new age burial practices that are regenerative and earth-centered. Conservation and Green burial practices can facilitate political discourses around social progressivism, environmental sustainability, non-violence, social justice, and ecological conservation. My capstone project investigates the role that landscape architecture can play as a catalyst in relation to ecological burials to promote environmental justice by creating regenerative death practices that can also be translated into regenerative ‘life’ practices.
