Professional Organizations for Environmental Design

American Planning Association (APA)

APA is a nonprofit public interest and research organization committed to urban, suburban, regional, and rural planning.  APA and its professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, advance the art and science of planning to meet the needs of people and society.

Minnesota also has a state chapter. 

American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA)

ASLA is the national professional association representing landscape architects.  The association promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.

Minnesota (MASLA) also has a state chapter. 

Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA)

EDRA advances and disseminates behavior and design research toward improving understanding of the relationships between people and their environments.

Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD)

SEGD is the global community of people who work at the intersection of communication design and the built environment. Environmental Graphic Design embraces many design disciplines including graphic, architectural, interior, landscape, and industrial design.
