The College of Design facilitates an annual program that helps students grow professionally by matching them with a mentor in their field of study. Together, mentoring pairs discuss the goals of the students and help with career exploration, networking, and professional skill building.
The program begins each November with a Kick-off event which provides an opportunity for the student and mentor to meet for the first time and gives direction for the next 5 months of the program. During the months of the program, mentors and students determine how often they will connect and the different types of activities or events in which they will participate. We ask mentors and students to connect at least once per month either by email, in-person, or Skype. The program officially wraps up in early April at an appreciation event.
