The College of Design is pleased to announce that for the start of the spring semester, effective January 17th, 2012, we will be opening a new open computer lab in McNeal Hall room 69.
Please note that the CDes computer lab staff, the large format plotting service, and the large format scanner will be located in the new open lab.
The new lab room will have about a dozen workstations (mostly Macs), several laptop-friendly spaces with power strips and networks jacks, a new flatbed scanner, and cutting tables for trimming plots.
Also, later during the spring semester, we will be offering a special print-release station with a color-calibrated monitor, which you will be able to use to print your files to the plotters or the new laser printer. This station should allow you to match the colors on your output more closely with how they are displayed on the screen. We are planning to install one of these in the Rapson Hall computer lab as well, during the spring semester.
We are happy to be able to respond to the feedback we gathered from the annual CDes computer lab satisfaction survey we conducted last spring semester by offering these new services. Please look for the survey again this spring, and take the opportunity to share your feedback with us. We value your input, and look forward to hearing from you about how we can continue to improve our services.
